This popular darkly is somewhat amusing American television series from executive producers, Barry Josephson and Hart Hanson was inspired by the forensic anthropologist and novelist, Kathy Reichs. The series has forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel), who works at the Jeffersonian Institution and writes novels as a sideline and has an uncanny ability to read clues within the bones of victim. She is therefore called in to assist with murder investigations, particularly when the remains are badly decomposed, burned or partially destroyed. Brennan is teamed with Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz), a former Army sniper who does not trust the use of science when it comes to solving crimes. They clash professionally and personally, but the chemistry between them is strong. In episode 59, season 4 entitled ‘Yanks in the UK’, this feature length seasonal premier has Booth and Brennan at a conference in London. Whilst they are there, they are called in to help solve what appears to be a murder of Portia Frampton, an American heiress. This episode was directed by Ian Toyton, a British director.
