Not only that but Willy Wonka hasn't been seen in years either. Suddenly there is an announcement by Wonka that 5 golden tickets will be placed ramdomly in Wonka bars to admit 1 child and their parental guardian. The Wonka bars could be anywhere in the world which sets off a frenzy of chocolate purchases. As the film unfolds it transpires that the factory workers are all Oompa-Loompas, fictional characters created by Roald Dahl, who originate from an island in the Pacific Ocean. All the costumes worn by the Oompa-Loompas in the film were made by a clothing company based in Cambridgeshire, in the East of England.

Veruca Salt (Julia Winter) finds the 2nd ticket. The camera takes the viewer to a large mansion house supposedly in Buckinghamshire, England; this is not Hatfield House. However the interior room of the house on screen where Veruca and her parents hold the press conference to show the world her ticket is the Armoury Room at Hatfield House with its very distinctive floor. Mr Salt (James Fox) recounts the story to journalists how he found the 2nd ticket. He tells them he was so determined his daughter would have a ticket following her demands for one that he instructed his employees in his peanut factory to unwrap chocolate bars instead of their usual jobs and subsequently purchased 1000s of bars. The camera moves to his vast factory and then back to the Armoury Room where Veruca's parents present her with the ticket. Rather than saying thank you however she demands a new pony!
