Adapted for the screen and directed by Alex De Rakoff, Dead Man Running is a British crime thriller based on a story by John Luton. Interestingly the Executive Producers were the premiership footballers, Rio Ferdinand and Ashley Cole. The plot focuses on ex-con Nick Kane (Tammer Hassan) who is granted 24 hours to pay back the money he owes to loan shark, Mr Thigo (Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson) before his mum (Brenda Blethyn) suffers badly at the hand of Johnny Sands’ (Phil Davis) shotgun. Nick enlists the help of his best friend, Bing (Danny Dyer) to raise the cash before time runs out which takes them on a trail from East London’s dog tracks to Manchester’s underground drug scene. Dead Man Running filmed on location in London, the greater south east and Manchester; it was not particularly well received by critics.

Dead Man Running used tracks, including Millbrook’s mile straight, for high-speed shots, as well as the hill route and the off road section for a police vehicle stunt.
