The Oscar nominated Dirty Pretty Things is a drama about two illegal immigrants living in London. A former Nigerian doctor, Okwe (Chiwetel Ejiofor) works in a hotel by night and drives a cab by day. Prostitute Juliette (Sophie Okonedo) warns Okwe to check a room she’s vacating. As a result of his grisly discovery he learns of an illegal operation where immigrants sell their kidneys in exchange for a new identity and passport. Whilst Okwe refuses to participate in the ‘harvesting’ process, a series of events unfold which have a profound effect on his friend and flatmate, Senay (Audrey Tautou) who also works at the hotel as a chambermaid.
