The BAFTA award-winning I’m Alan Partridge was a BBC sitcom starring Steve Coogan. Two series were produced in total and followed the life and times of Alan Partridge (Coogan), a failed TV chat show host who finds himself relegated to a local radio station in Norwich, Norfolk. The place names used were not fictional and all located in the East of England. There is the potential to produce a feature film.

    Blickling Hall appears in episode 6 of series 2. The Inland Revenue are carrying out a random investigation on Alan's business affairs. This leads to a series of embarrasing moments, all of which are viewed by the tax people. During the episode Alan has an argument with Sonja, his Ukrainian girlfriend, so to make amends he takes her to Bono's house after falsely claiming to be a personal friend of his. It is for this episode that Blickling Hall becomes Bono's fictional house.

    The Hilton National Watford became exteriors for the fictional Linton Travel Tavern. After experiencing a rapid decline in his career and his wife throwing him out, Alan is forced to take up residence at the Linton Travel Tavern, which he chose because it is equidistant between London and Norwich'.
