This popular BBC drama series about upper-crust Detective Inspector Thomas ‘Tommy’ Lynley (Nathaniel Parker), the 8th Earl of Asherton, and working class Dectective Sergeant Barbara Havers (Sharon Small) finds the unlikely partnership involved in solving murder cases despite the personality clashes. The episodes from the first two series and two from the third are actually based around novels by the American author Elizabeth George. Later episodes were scripted for television.
