Directed by Robert Young this television adaptation was based on the novel by Charlotte Bronte and was perceived to be a more passionate version than previous adaptations for either film or television. Jane Eyre (Samantha Morton) is an orphan who becomes a governess at the home of Lord Rochester (Ciarán Hinds).
