The BAFTA award-winning Jeeves and Wooster was based on the novels by P.G. Wodehouse and adapted for the screen by Clive Exton. The series told the story of the romantic misadventures of upper class if somewhat dilatory Bertie Wooster (Hugh Laurie) and his wise butler, Jeeves (Stephen Fry). The stories were set before the beginning of World War II in England and the US. Produced for the ITV network it screened a total of 23 episodes from 1990 to 1993.
