This BAFTA award-winning BBC mystery crime drama series written by David Renwick screened a one-off Christmas Special entitled ‘The Grinning Man’. Eccentric inventor of magical illusions, Jonathan Creek (Alan Davies) who can apparently solve seemingly impossible crimes finds is contacted by Joey Ross (Sheridan Smith), a paranormal investigator when her friend disappears whilst staying in a gothic mansion.
