The BAFTA nominated Plenty was based on the play by David Hare who wrote the screenplay, and had an all star cast including John Gielgud (Sir Leonard Darwin), Tracey Ullman (Alice Park), Sting (Mick), Ian McKellan (St Andrew Charleson) and Sam Neill (Lazar). Directed by Fred Schepisi, Plenty is set in post World War II and tells the tale of Susan Traherne (Meryl Streep), a former member of the French resistance who struggles to adapt to civilian life in England. Charles Dance plays her husband, Raymond Brock.
