Directed by David Dobkin, this action, comedy western formed the sequel to Shanghai Noon. Set in 1887 Chon Wang (Jackie Chan) is now Sheriff in Carson City (Nevada, US). His father (Kim Chan), the Keeper of the Imperial Seal of China, is assassinated by Lord Nelson Rathbone (Aiden Gillen) who steels the seal. Before he dies, he gives Chon Lin (Fann Wong), his daughter, a puzzle box and a letter for Chon Wang. She follows the murderer to London and sends the box and letter to Chon Wang. When he receives the package he travels to New York to find his former partner, Roy O’Bannon (Owen Wilson) to get money for a passage to England. A series of events follow resulting in Roy and Chon Wang hiding out in a crate on their way to London to find Chon Wang’s sister and re-claim the seal. Shanghai Knights was criticized over its many historical inaccuracies; Wikipedia provides an interesting comprehensive list.
