This re-make of the Anthony Shaffer’s 1972 Oscar, BAFTA and Golden Globe nominated Sleuth starring Lawrence Olivier as Andrew Wyke and Michael Caine as Milo Tindle, was directed by Kenneth Branagh. Whilst largely modelled on the original Sleuth, the screenplay (written by Harold Pinter) was pronounced more of a ‘reinvention’ than a re-make. Micheal Caine is cast as Andrew Wyke in this adaptation and Jude Law as Milo. When his wife leaves him for a younger man, an aging author invites his rival to his high-tech mansion where he plans a series of carefully planned tricks.
