The BATFA nominated and award-winning Stuart: A Life Backwards was adapted for television from the book by Alexander Masters which won the Whitbread Book-of-the-Year Award in 2005. Masters wrote the screenplay for this drama and also plays Benedict Cumberbatch who looks back on the life of his unlikely friend, Stuart Shorter (Tom Hardy).
