The BAFTA nominated Tales of the Unexpected was a dramatization of a series of short stories written by author Roald Dahl which screened a total of nine series between 1979 and 1988 on ITV Anglia. Midway towards through the second series other author’s stories were dramatized hence the series became known as The Tales of the Unexpected – Introduced by Roald Dahl. Each story was both strange and bizarre with an unexpected twist. The popularity of the series attracted a high calibre of guest actors such as Timothy West, John Mills and John Gielgud.
