Created by London Weekend Television for ITV this popular family adventure series spanning 52 episodes was based loosely around the children's novel Black Beauty by Anna Sewell with dramatist, Ted Willis introducing a variety of new characters and storylines. The series had different directors and writers hence they are not listed here. The storyline focuses around a rural doctor, Dr James Gordon (William Lucas), his wife Vicky (Judi Bowler) and their children who have adventures with their horse, Black Beauty.
