Barchester Chronicles, The

This BAFTA award-winning television mini-series produced by the BBC was directed by David Giles. It was based on Anthony Trollope's Barchester novels, Chonicles of Barsetshire which were set in the fictional town of Barchester during the mid to late 19th century. It filmed on location in Peterborough and had an all star cast including Donald Pleasance (Mr Harding), Nigel Hawthorne (Archdeacon Grantly), Geraldine McEwan (Mrs Proudie), Alan Rickman (Obadiah Slope) and Susan Hampshire (Signora Madeline Neroni).
