Directed by Jonathan Frakes, this contemporary live action adventure story was based on the cult puppet adventure series. Set in 2020, Alan Tracey (Brady Corbet) is the youngest of the Tracey brothers. He is keen to prove he is ready to join his older brothers in his father Jeff’s (Bill Paxton) secret organisation which uses advanced technology developed by Brains (Anthony Edwards), a scientific genius, to save lives. Lady Penelope (Sophia Myles) and her chauffeur, Parker (Ron Cook) support their efforts. The family however do not think Alan is ready. Meanwhile The Hood (Ben Kingsley), who was presumed dead by The Thunderbirds years earlier in a rescue attempt and subsequently abandoned, is bent on revenge. Circumstances arise which ultimately persuade the family that Alan is ready. Thunderbirds the film was not well received by the critics or fans of the television series, nor did it do well at the box office.
