Directed by Paul Greengrass, this is a real-time reconstruction of the tragic events which overtook flight United 93, one of the aircraft hijacked on September 11, 2001. United 93 was nominated for two Oscars and won 21 awards, including 2 BAFTAs, and was the first Hollywood feature film to draw its narrative from the terrible events that took place that day. It also features some participants in those events who play themselves in the account. Where possible the actors met the families of the characters they were to play and the dialogue for the film was built from there. The production used a Boeing 757 at Pinewood Studios for the plane set and Stansted Airport acted as another key location. Whilst there was some criticism, United 93 was largely well received by critics and audiences alike.
